Hand Stretched Pizza and Hawaiian Supreme

I was able to try two variants of these Hand Stretched Pizza today and I must say that as someone who is not too fond of thick crust pizza but gets easily hungry when downing thin crust variants, this options sits well with me.

It is also perfect for those who again, like me are not too fond of the thick pizza edge. It always makes me feel like eating a plain bread so I would normally ditch that part. Although I am more than happy when Pizza Hut introduced their Stuffed Crust Pizza, the Crust Glaze is welcome respite from the usual.


Hawaiian Supreme with Honey Crunch Glaze

First variant, I tried was the Hawaiian Supreme with Honey Crunch Glaze. I am not a big fan of pineapple on my pizza but I am ready to make exception for this one since the perfect sweetness and the exciting texture of the Honey Crunch Glaze made the pie palatable for me.

I love that the edge was generously glazed with honey and corn flakes. It was like incorporating memories of my childhood in a pizza, seriously. This was a revelation of a combination for me.

The second variant I got dibs on was the Supreme Pizza with Toasted Cheddar Crust Glaze. Equally impressive since I love cheddar cheese. The pizza is cheesy enough in itself but the crust glazed made it even better.

I love the fact that as always, Pizza Hut is always generous to their toppings. I guess that it is the reason why I have always been a fan ever since. I am always getting my money’s worth. Now that they have this Hot Deals promo, it feels like I am getting so much more.


Shakeys All time favorites

My unwavering love for their thin crust pizza made Shakey’s one of my all time favorite pizza parlors. For years now, the quality of their food has never changed. at least in my opinion; moreover, the superb customer experience I always get from their employees whenever I visit Shakeys. I may have fallen in love with other pizza restaurants, but Shakey’s still has a spot on my list.

Thin Crust Belly Buster Pizza is one of my all time favorites. Packed with 11 kinds of toppings, Italian sausage, beef, pepperoni, ham, salami, cheddar cheese, salami bits, mushrooms, red and green bell pepper, onions, and black olives. A bite of this ultimately satisfying pizza will send a burst of flavor inside your mouth, while its hot crunchy thin crust only add delight to the experience.

If in the event that I am in a company of more than three, it is rather practical to order for their monster deals. The last time I visited, I was with three of my friends and we feasted on the deal which consists of Angus Steak Pizza, Chicken, Mojos, Platter of Spaghetti, Garlic bread, and a pitcher of Cola.

I still enjoy this variant. However, there are times when it can be a bit salty, so I always request for them to go a little easy on the seasoning for my order.

I have gone crazy over Shakey’s Chiken and Mojos way back and up to now, I still have incessant cravings from time to time.


Spaghetti Platter

Their spaghetti may not look appetizing at all, but it is one of my favorite store bought spaghetti as it reminds me of the one my brother cooks at home. There’s a fine balance betweeen sweet and sour flavor in the sauce which blends perfectly with the pasta and complements with a garlic bread.

Their good old spaghetti would be very lonely without these yummy pieces of garlic bread. The bread was perfectly crunchy and generously smothered with garlic butter. I can eat this alone if only it is sprinkled with Parmesan Cheese on top.


Several Shakey’s are near in my area, but their branch in Espana, Manila is the one I frequent to for guaranteed fast and good service;moreover, it is near to me. Shakey’s is and will always be an all time classic favorite, I hope they would not change the good quality of their food and the good customer service.


Hangin Kite Resort Boracay

For a couple days I stayed at the beautiful Hangin Kite Resort on Bulabog Beach. As the name tells, Hangin Kite Resort is a favorite spot for kite surfers. The Owner Normeth is such a dear, and she’s quite popular on the island. Besides running the Hangin Resort and a kite school, she’s also the owner of the famous Mermaid School and teaching people how to swim like a mermaid…

The resort has been recently renovated, each room is individually designed. My room had high ceilings and a bathtub in the center of the room. I could see the ocean while having a bath. The room had a lovely view, overlooking Bulabog Beach.

There was a cozy lounge deck across our room, the perfect place to get a tan, read a book or just watch the kite surfers. If you can wake up early, you’ll see a stunning sunrise over Bulabog Beach.

Hangin Kite Resort is located on Bulabog Beach, a five minute walk from D`Mall and maybe eight minutes walk to White Beach. This is probably your cheapest bet if you fancy a beachfront place. I loved staying there. Unique rooms, great views and welcoming staff.


Rates: Double room start from PHP1500/night (in low season, June – Sep.). Each room is equipped with A/C, LCD TV, kettle and fridge.

The experience at Hangin Kite Resort was really awesome and amazing because of their good quality of service and worth it price offerings. You would really feel the nature and the fresh air it emits. The ambient conditions makes you feel you are at home; moreover it makes you feel relaxed and stress free.

If you would be going to boracay do not forget to go and visit this place for you to experience paradise. If you want a place far from urbanized parts of boracay try to visit this place. It would be great and worth it. It would be so great that you would not forget the experience.

Have you ever sat to the ultimate healthy meal, only to find yourself gazing at the unopened bag of Sour Patch Kids in your kitchen?

You made yourself a salad — an exceptionally healthy one. It’s vegan, gluten-free, has seasoned tofu for protein and even a good dose of goji berries and various nuts and seeds loaded with antioxidants.

You’re about to serve yourself — and then that bag of Sour Patch Kids catches your eye. It’s filled with Sour Patch Kids. And right next to it is a package of peanut butter M&Ms.

You know you should eat your salad like a proper person…but you really, really want that candy. And it wouldn’t be so bad to eat it. Just for one meal.

With only two weeks allotted to explore the Philippines before heading on to Hong Kong and back to the US, my time was limited. My original plans for the Philippines had been to head up through North Luzon to see the UNESCO-listed rice terraces along with the hanging coffins of Sagada.

This region shows off some of the Philippines’ natural and cultural beauty, and I wanted to explore it — it seemed like the “smart” thing to do.

That said…it wouldn’t be the smoothest journey. It would take two overnight buses there and back, plus some crazy bus journeys along cliffs, very basic guesthouses, spotty connectivity…a region that I’d love to visit at the right time. But this wasn’t the right time. I had too much work to do and not enough energy to give this trip the attention it deserved.

Sabrina, my Philippines-expert friend, nearly exploded when I told her my plans. “You can’t go to the Philippines and not see a single beach!” she admonished me. “The beaches are the best part! Go to Boracay.”

That was all the convincing I needed. I booked tickets right away.


Getting to Know Boracay

Boracay is a tiny island in the Visayas region of the central Philippines. As the most popular travel destination in the Philippines, it’s far from undiscovered — the island absolutely teems with tourists, especially Filipinos, Koreans, and Chinese.

White Beach is the main hub of the island, stretching along the west coast, and it’s often cited as one of the world’s best beaches. And with a beach path running parallel to the shore, you could spend your whole stay on Boracay on sand — I know I nearly did!

White Beach is divided into three sections named after the former boat stations: Station 1, furthest north, is home to luxury resorts. Station 2, in the middle, is a huge commercial hub and home to tons of shops, restaurants, and hotels, as well as DMall, a massive shopping complex.


Station 3, furthest south, is much quieter and more relaxed. Just south of Station 3 is Angol, an even more chilled out neighborhood. Some people say that Angol is the only remnant of the “Old Boracay” before it got so developed.

There are a few other beaches — Bulabog Beach in the east is popular with the kitesurfing/windsurfing crowd in high season, and secluded Puka Beach in the north is a big day trip destination.

As for me, I loved the Station 3/Angol region and spent the bulk of my time there, but would often head up to Station 2 for dinner and drinks.

Boracay Life

Wake up, sit on the beach, get brunch, get lunch, read, swim a little bit. Watch the sunset, get dinner, maybe get a drink or two. That’s all you have to know.

The thing about Boracay is that the beach here is so great — the sand so white and fine, the beachfront so long, the landscape so beautiful, the water so warm and turquoise — that you can do nothing else and still feel entirely accomplished.

Also: eat mangos day and night. I swear that the Philippines is home to the sweetest, juiciest mangos in the world. I had mango juice, mango shakes, mango lassis, even a mango set on fire with burning cognac and topped with ice cream!

The World’s Best Sunsets

Back in the day, I thought that Koh Lanta was home to the world’s best sunsets. While I’ve seen some amazing sunsets on Lanta, quite frankly, they didn’t hold a candle to what I saw on Boracay.

On my third night on Boracay, I saw what was indisputably the best sunset of my life. My photos don’t remotely capture how incredible it was, but here are a few shots of it anyway.

Elorde Boxing Gym

I love sports and its one of my great hobbies most especially basketball. but, I try to explore a different field of sports which is kick boxing or famously known as Muay Thai. And one of my friends also invited me to have a Muay Thai training in commonwealth Elorde gym last 2 years ago. Eventually, I came to discover the Elorde boxing gym; however, due to time constraints and other factors I stop training together with my friends; but, recently this year 2016 I try to come back and train again here in Elorde Lacson corner Espana. I also tried to work out my body because I am getting fatter this early 2015 year. They offer different types of training not just kick boxing but also the classic and famous of all which is boxing. Because of Manny Pacquiao’s inspiration boxing became famous and discovered here in the Philippines; moreover, when you have already chosen what training to do, they will ask you to choose your own trainer or they will recommend to you their best trainers in their respective field of expertise. I love to train most especially when you see how well trained and expert your trainers are; moreover, they are friendly and approachable. They also take into consideration how fast would you respond to the training itself especially when you are a newbie to a specific type of training. They would try to measure first your stamina and capacity to do the work of training before they inflict difficult types of training. At first they will try to do a light training for the customers to absorb the intensity of the training and get used to it. Then eventually when the customer get used to the routine of training they will gradually change the intensity of training from light training to a hard training as it is suitable and applicable already to the customer.

I like it when the training is hard because it helps me sweat more and I can feel the improvement towards my body and my training itself. When the training is hard I feel the worth of what I am paying to the establishment and the trainer itself; moreover,  I can feel the intensity of the training so it is not boring instead it is challenging and motivating. I would really feel the heat inside my body and I feel really tired but I do not stop working out and doing the training because of my motto “never give up” and the reason behind why I am training because I want to improve myself and to become better. My trainer would motivate and inspire me that I can do it and I have the guts to be the best. Muay Thai is about being motivated to improve oneself in every training he experiences. Despite of those body pains and joint strains. Being able to survive those and to train everyday would really improve yourself not just physically but mentally because you became more disciplined. At first it would be hard to train everyday but as you get used to the body pains that every training would give. In the end you would love to do Muay Thai because you were searching for those body pains and eventually you will miss those.


It is located in Lacson corner Espana. It is near Pizza hut and University of Santo Tomas Lacson-Espana side. The ambient conditions of the said establishment is really good because you will be enticed to do training because of its ambiance, music and atmosphere inside. they have also a complete set of equipment that is needed for Muay thai and boxing training. They have the boxing ring for players to do sparring. They have also the ringing clock that bells every 2 minutes for training and bells again after 30 seconds for resting then it repeats the process. They also offer unlimited water for only 20 pesos. Every training of Muay thai costs 230 pesos if in peak hours but if it is not in peak hours it is only for 180 pesos

I choose this Elorde Boxing gym as one of my service blogs because of its good service and great trainers. I am comfortable and confident that having my training in this gym would bring me security and satisfaction because they  are tested and proven in terms of sports most especially boxing. Because Elorde boxing gym is one of the signature brand in terms of boxing training; moreover, since most of our Philippine boxers came from that boxing gym.

Cafe by the Ruins Baguio

Cafe by the Ruins (since 1988) recently opened up a new branch on Upper Session Road (right beside Mario’s).  This extension is called Cafe by the Ruins Dua (dua, meaning “two” in Ilokano), and Baguio natives have fondly nicknamed it Cafe Dua.

To you old Cafe by the Ruins loyalists, fret not because Dua is still the same old Cafe you have grown to love through the years, except it is now more modern-looking in terms of facilities, The bigger Dua branch is also in charge of producing and supplying Cafe by the Ruins’ pasalubong and bakery products: bread selection (Ernie’s kamote bread, Ensaymada, Whole Wheat Pan de Sal, etc.) and deli meats (home-smoked bacon, lamb sausage, longganisa, etc.). It is located in 25 Shuntug Street, Baguio City

First time trying out Cafe by the Ruins since we failed to do it last Panagbenga.

I didn’t expect that the place would be like that. Since it’s like a small bakery from the outside.

Really a power breakfast!
Filipino “lon-si-log” (340 pesos)- Longganisang Hubad/ Marinated Pork Cubes. I was hesistant to order this one, since I’m not fan of longganisa, but when I read on their menu that it’s marinated pork cubes, I thought it’s the fried porkies with just longganisa flavoring. But indeed, it’s really a longganisa cubes. Kinda disappointed since I thought my meal would be like that (my fault anyway) Flavorful, but it’s a bit tough upon my liking. But I’m sure longganisa lovers will love this one!
Bacon and Eggs (340 pesos)- Thick pieces of bacon, egg and rice or pandesal. It was my girlfriend’s order and she was disappointed when she found out that the bagnet is not available during breakfast, but this Bacon and Eggs made his day! Combination of perfectly crisp bacon plus thick slabs of bacon. Not the Poco Deli style, but it’s home cured bacon.

One of the best places to have breakfast in Baguio is Cafe by the Ruins so without second thought we immediately went there to know why. I suggest you go here before you start your day activities in the city. I love its charm and rustic interior design. I find the meals to be a bit expensive like the longsilog  for PHP340.00. It comes with a big serving of marinated pork cubes and egg, one cup of red rice, drink of your choice, and fresh fruits. The staff is attentive and courteous, which makes dining really comfortable.

I choose this as one of my blogs because of its great food and excellent service; however the price of their food is quite expensive but I assure to you that it is worth it and delicious based from our experience, I can guarantee you that this is a must-try place in Baguio City.

Cafe Yagam Baguio

Cafe Yagam is located at  25 J. Felipe St., in Barangay Gibraltar.The place is a house-turned-cafe that had homey vibe. They had a menu on the wall written with chalk. The prices were reasonable and you kinda get a hint that the place served great food. There were several other guests in the area who were jamming while having beer;  They had a lit fire place and above it was a load of books anyone was free to browse. Unlike most food places, Cafe Yagam had a variety of seating arrangements ranging from typical tables and chairs to cushions on the floor around a low-rise table.
The owner of the place gave us a quick introduction why they were serving the particular dishes they prepared that night and also explained the traditional context of the food.

She first introduced Pinkipikan — a meal prepared by beating a chicken with a stick to make its blood clot near the surface of its skin, making its meat tastier. It is then smoked and served together with sayote and soup (which you can add rice wine to if you liked).

The meat of the pinikpikan was indeed tasty. It reminded me of tinola only its meat was firmer. The sayote was fresh and the soup was brothy and light; I tried it with a bit of local rice wine but I didn’t like how it tasted. Maybe there was a particular proportion of rice wine to soup that I wasn’t aware of.

The second dish was called Pinuneg or blood sausage. This dish is exclusive to the Benguet Kankanaey and is typically served when a pig was butchered during a ritual or ceremony.

This kind of sausage is made to avoid wasting any part of the animal.

The sausage had chunky bits inside of it. As a fan of dinuguan, I enjoyed eating this dish. It is paired with a red spicy sauce that is not for the faint of heart. Based on the taste, the sauce had seemed like it had a fermentation stage in the process of making it. It goes well with the sausage but I recommend that you only put a little on it or perhaps use it as a dip instead to avoid overpowering the flavours of the pinuneg.

The third dish introduced to us was called Binungor. It is a Kalinga dish that is served as an appetizer or side dish and not a viand. It is made of various vegetables found around a Kalinga household along with tenga ng daga and other wild mushrooms, and Ot-an, that spiral shaped shell-fish you suck to get the meat inside.

The spice packs quite the punch.The Binungor had slight hints of sweetness and spiciness to it. I tried sucking on a couple of the Ot-an but I wasn’t successful.😦 Oh well. The vegetables tasted fresh and were deliciously chewy. I kind of understand why it’s served as a side dish because of it’s consistency.

The last dish is called Kini-ing — a smoked or sun-dried piece of pork. The owner told us that this is different from Etag (a piece of pork also smoked or sun-dried) because it does not undergo a fermentation process. She also told us that Kini-ing is only smoked when it rains, otherwise it is left under the sun.

The meat was sliced thinly and had a smoky flavor. It was well done but the layer of fat was too thick compared to the portion of actual meat it had. Nevertheless, it was seasoned perfectly. After the concise background on all of the dishes served, we were then allowed to serve ourselves. I had to try everything of course!😀

I got a good portion of each of the dishes to fill my plate. Yummy!

I got a cup of fluffy brown rice, a hot bowl of Pinikpikan soup, and a steaming cup of coffee to go with all the dishes. At that moment, everything felt like it was where it’s supposed to be. Each of the dishes complemented each other and combining them with every bite was a fascinating experience for the palate. After the hearty dinner and tummy-warming soup and coffee, we were told that there was still dessert! I felt quite full but I was sure I had room for dinner, because who doesn’t, right?

They served a sticky-rice dish called Kiniwar (hinalo or mixed) which somehow reminded me of Biko, another sweet sticky rice dish. It was still hot but I immediately got a piece before it ran out. Talk about patay-gutom, haha.

The kiniwar was topped with two kinds of coconut: the first one was coconut with gata (coconut milk) cooked to become malapot (thick; viscous) and underneath it was also coconut but was caramelized, kinda like Pangasinan’s bukayo. The coconut toppings made the kiniwar even more delightful for the taste buds. To our luck, they served another freshly-cooked batch! Oh my goodness!

The dessert paired very well with their coffee from Sagada which was smooth and light just like the blues nights the Cafe occasionally hosts. If you enjoy black coffee, this is a must try. It also tastes good with sugar and creamer, if you’re that kind of person.:)

We played a couple of get-to-know games several minutes after dinner. I had some more coffee while others had tea and before the night ended, they served us Tapuey (rice wine; similar to the one you can mix with the pinikpikan soup) made from Mayuyao, Ifugao. The owner of the cafe told us that tapuey from that particular area had a sweeter flavor compared to other rice wines in the Cordilleras.

Cafe Yagam's TapueyCafe Yagam’s Tapuey had a smooth texture and had no after-taste unlike most mass-produced alcohol. It was also a great night cap for a tiring and fun evening together with our fellow bloggers. We thanked our hosts and left the place happier and closer to each other. It’s the kind of place I would definitely go back to (alone or with friends) especially on a cold and rainy day.

The food was really good and exotic. But I had fun because of its unique and cultural based dishes. I choose this restaurant as one of my blogs because of its great food and excellent service to customers.  The owner of the said restaurant was really accomodating and friendly. If you go to baguio just try this Yagam Cafe and you will experience the true food of the people of Baguio.

Rock View Beach Resort Bolinao

Rock View Beach Resort is such a wonderful accommodation. It’s really confusing as its downsides were also its strengths. To sight an example is the location, it’s far from the white beach where all the cottages crowds. Thus, it was serine, silent and very relaxing, in fact we had the entire rocky view all for ourselves. However, swimmable part is nowhere in this area during Amihan (Northern Monson) which means that you have to travel down around 2km to beach bum.

Another thing is that, this resort is not too commercialized – you get to live a very rustic experience here, few cottages and two open cabanas which mean few visitors making it unreasonable for the owners to provide food services. Yeah right they offer nothing apart from the use of the kitchen. You have to shop and cook for yourself, something I am so lazy to do on a vacation. Anyway I wasn’t prepared for it, we were just told to buy everything we need (and by saying everything we need that includes drinking water to toiletries) by ate Lita’s son when he fetched us in Bolinao town proper.

I love the place because it reminds me of my province life. Rock View Beach resort is really awesome were you would experience the bahay kubo setting or ambiance; moreover, you would experience the cool breeze of the sea which is very relaxing most especially during siesta time after lunch. The place was really relaxing, it calms my soul, it somehow erases all the stress in my body and all the problems in my mind when I stayed in this resort.
The price of the said resort was really affordable because we only paid 800 pesos per night. The care taker was so nice and friendly that they treated us like one of their families. They helped us how to spend less and have a memorable experience in bolinao. They also toured us on the said province. But we paid extra for their service of accompanying us to tourist spots like lighthouse, enchanted cave, and the famous patar white beach

this cave too has a very clear turquoise water. Based on the staff on duty that time, the cave is connected to the sea which explains the enchanting color of the water. It’s a nice place, and the water is very refreshing. The cave itself is very small though, I don’t think it’s worth a hundred and fifty for a quick tour and dip.

Beyond my expectations, the place specially the shoreline when we visited was very clean. The sand color is cream while most of the review says its dark beige. According to the owner the golden sand is most of the time an effect of flooding water from highlands which makes its color darker during rainy season.

True Food Indian Cuisine Boracay

I absolutely love the taste and look of Indian food. It warms the soul and there’s something very appealing about eating with one’s hands. This restaurant did not fail to deliver a great view and even better food!


Our amazing view – yes the beach is right there. There are no seats only cushions to lounge around on. We were the only patrons upstairs so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. This was mainly because we were having an early dinner because we’d skipped lunch:).


We ordered the butter chicken curry, vegetable biryani and 2 pieces of naan.


The portions may look small but they are not!


Here is the butter chicken. Not too spicy but amazing flavors. The naan was really big. The biryani was so yummy.


The chicken pieces in the curry were also a good size. The Indian food was so good that we were really satisfied in terms of its taste

I choose this restaurant as one of my service blogs because its good service and good ambiance. The waiters were really accommodating and friendly to customers. There could be instances that the manager or waiter would talk to you and ask if we liked the food or how is the food. The price of their food is quite expensive most especially in terms of their stake and lamb prices. But the food is really great most especially when you wanted a real taste of spices and Indian food. This restaurant is great for spicy lovers and for those people who love to eat exotic foods; So if you are in Boracay you have to visit this place. It’s hard to miss since it has a great view and you can smell the indian cuisine from outside. The food and atmosphere is amazing. I want to go again

Zarks Burger Megamall

When I crave for burgers, the first thing I can think is Zark’s! My girlfriend and I were craving to eat here for a week now, and we got the chance to do it after a Sunday mass at Megamall. As we went here, we already expected a queue for the tables and yup, we patiently waited for it. We were able to get our orders ready while waiting to be seated. I decided to order one of their famous burgers, the Jawbreaker, and a glass of bottomless blue lemonade for my drink. I must say they never disappoint! The mere look to the burger was appetizing. The juiciness and the meatiness of the burger was real, the taste was oozing with flavors as you take a bite. The cheesiness was there, right amount of salty, and the combination of the meat were perfect! Guess I will never get tired of going back here for more. The staff were very accommodating to our needs as well. We all went home with a satisfied appetite.

The service was really good because the receptionist was really accommodating despite they have many customers to entertain. They do not fail to smile and explain to customers how willing are they to wait because of overflowing customers. The price of the products offered by the said restaurant is quite expensive but the quality of burgers is worth the price. The size and the taste of their patty was really good. It is good for customers who really loves to eat burgers and meat eaters. When you experience the burger of Zarks you would eventually forget the calories and fats that a burger contains because of its great taste of burger. Their ingredients of making a burger is great. The combination of tomato and onions in a burger with lettuce is my favorite type of burger, then I would put heinz ketchup and a little bit mustard sauce.

I choose this restaurant as one of my blogs because burger is one of my favorite food since I was a child and I want to share to you how lovely this Zarks burger is… the price of the burger is worth it despite it is quite expensive. But to those higher middle class families the price of the burger is just okay and affordable.  I really like the recipe of mixing tomato and onions with lettuce in a burger. Then you’ll add ketchup or mustard sauce.
